CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap

  • Askwith Hall 13 Appian Way Cambridge, MA, 02138 United States (map)

CODE documentary examines the reasons why more girls and people of color are not seeking opportunities in computer science.

We'll start the night at 6 pm with a screening of the acclaimed documentary CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap, which exposes the dearth of American female and minority software engineers and explores the reasons for the gap. CODE raises the question: what would society gain from having more women and minorities code?

Then we'll discuss with CODE's own director Robin Hauser Reynolds, Harvard Business School Professor Robin Ely, Harvard Kennedy School Professor Robert Livingston, and you of course! Then at 9, we'll continue the conversation over drinks and snacks at our post-panel reception.

Sponsored by Silicon Valley Bank and co-hosted by the Harvard Business School Digital Initiative, CODE@HBS, and Harvard Alumni for Education.
